TTSWTRS (‘tatoo sweaters’) is a Ukrainian fashion brand founded in Kyiv in 2013 by former costume designer and stylist Anna Osmekhina. Originating as a collaborative project that fuses apparel and art, driven by a passionate collective of creatives, TTSWTRS has evolved into an internationally acclaimed label.
Inspired by the subversive allure of tattoo culture, TTSWTRS pieces create the enchanting illusion of a body wrapped in art. Revolutionizing conventional clothing concepts, TTSWTRS incorporates the optical illusion of tattoos onto garments, blurring the lines between fabric and skin, and transforming clothing into a seamless extension of the body. Each TTSWTRS collection celebrates the freedom to be your authentic self, embodying self-expression, body acceptance, and liberation. Collaborating with renowned tattooists and artists, the brand meticulously creates designs that emulate the intricate beauty of tattoos, transforming clothing into wearable masterpieces.
The brand’s debut collection sold out instantly at the legendary concept-store Colette. TTSWTRS designs are worn by celebrities like Emili Ratajkowski, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicki Minaj, Tina Kunakey, Grimes, Winnie Harlow, Kourtney Kardashian, Kristen Mcmenamy, Tommy Cash, Roisin Murphy, Sita Abellan, to name a few. TTSWTRS collections are available in 12 stores, including Farfetch, spanning across 11 countries such as the USA, France, Austria, Poland, the Netherlands, Ukraine, and others. Rooted in a commitment to exceptional quality and local production, TTSWTRS operates a three-storey manufacturing hub in Kyiv, complete with clothing production, printing facilities, and an exploratory workshop. Eschewing traditional seasons, the brand creates purpose-driven pieces, guided by the milestones of craftsmanship.
TTSWTRS is at the forefront of environmental advocacy in fashion, pioneering art and social initiatives to combat ecological issues. Since 2020, the brand extensively uses sustainable fabrics in its designs. In 2021 TTSWTRS released the fashion film “Mission” as an NFT, and dedicated it to Earth, with the proceeds donated to the ocean protection organization Parley for the Oceans. In 2021, Anna Osmekhina joined ‘No More Plastico’ as an ambassador.
TTSWTRS also taps into technology, innovation and AI as a source of inspiration. The brand integrates these elements into its designs, crafting a vision that symbolizes the fusion of fashion and cutting-edge technology. In 2020 TTSWTRS released its first VR show envisaging a hypothetical moment in the future when tech development becomes unavoidable and unstoppable. In 2022 TTSWTRS became the first Ukrainian brand to release a virtual capsule with digital clothing retailer DRESSX.
